Unfathoms is an ambient project that has been active for several years, with semi-official digital releases - albums, EPs and "singles" tucked away in mediafire folders, shared with friends and acquaintances.
"Outside, Laburnums So Sweet, But Inside" is a drone-based project that conjures up images of the ethereal, pastoral and simple late summer pleasure. Between the rolling waves of synths and the track titles, this album places the listener in a landscape where the edges are more defined than the center. Different items and accompanying sound patterns are offered, and a broad context emerges from the small details. This is not background music - this is music that offers the listener a space and asks, gently, to fill the space with the essence of their subjective vista.
The CD comes in a jewel case with three inserts. The artwork is made of recycled particle paper and is screen printed.
Unfathoms is Austin Tracey, currently based in Chicago, Illinois.
